Just being nominated for the Michelin Guide, without any further rating, is a recommendation. The Michelin Guide is the perfect hotel guide for city and business trips, as well as family holidays and long gourmet or spa weekends. Independent inspectors ensure the high quality of the entries. A team of full-time salaried Michelin inspectors are responsible for the selection of establishments for the Guide. These inspectors are well-known critics and experts from the hotel and restaurant industry. For the 2009 issue of the Michelin Guide they have travelled through Austria for more than nine months, visiting new hotels and inspecting and updating the proficiency levels of the locations which have already been included in the Michelin Guide.
For the latest issue each anonymous Michelin inspector has travelled an average of 30,000 kilometres, stayed overnight in 130 hotels and tested 240 restaurants. The Michelin Guide is published every year to offer its readers the greatest possible accuracy and relevancy.
