Christmas Markets

Visit one of the Tyrolean Christmas Markets in Innsbruck and its surroundings directly from the Landgasthof Bogner ****

Good to see you on our website!
Hopefully you have brought some time with you. Time has become one of the most precious possessions, and as hard as we try to chase after money, time to relax can’t be bought with any money in the world. We simply have to take time for ourselves once in a while.

So, take some time out and visit one of our numerous Christmas markets during this festive season. Cribs, the scents of gingerbread and mulled wine, festively decorated streets and places, loud or silent, peaceful or turbulent - the Strasser family and the Bogner team are sure that there is something for everybody:

* Join in the Festive Period at the Christmas Market in Hall

Stars and Christmassy symbols turn the historic little town of Hall into a sea of lights, and therefore this most serene time of the year is awaited with particular anticipation. The great feast gets closer every day, and the numbers of the Advent calendar will be projected in different colours onto the face of the buildings on the Oberer Stadtplatz (Upper City Square). Young and old, the guests of the Hotel Bogner and locals will meet at the Christmas market in Hall and together prepare for the festive Christmas season.

* Experience Christmas at Innsbruck

Visitors from all over the world are enchanted by the festive atmosphere of the four Christmas markets at Innsbruck.

The Christmas Market in the Old Town:

The annual, traditional Christmas market is located in front of the Golden Roof in the middle of the historic Old Town of Innsbruck. Strolling through the market you will be able to discover handcrafted Christmas decorations, arts and crafts and some local curiosities. The fairy-tale lane, a particular feature here, and the vivid Advent calendar are just some of the highlights of this market.

The Christmas Market in the Maria-Theresien Street:

This Christmas market will shine in the avenue of Innsbruck, true to its slogan "The World is our guest at Innsbruck". Numerous lights, glasses and crystals transform this avenue into something special during the festive season.

A Market for the Whole Family - the Christmas Market in the Market Place.

Is there anything more wonderful than seeing children's eyes light up? Visit this Christmas market in the Market Place with your little ones. Your children will be able to enjoy a carousel, a petting zoo and much more. Market stands with wonderful gift ideas and traditional delicacies will make this visit perfect.

Above the Rooftops of Innsbruck - The Panorama Christmas Market on the Hungerburg.

This Christmas market offers a unique experience. You will go up the mountain by funicular railway (Hungerburgbahn) and be able to enjoy not only numerous Christmassy delicacies, but also a fantastic view of Innsbruck and its surroundings.

* Advent at Rattenberg

Rattenberg - approx. 40 km from Innsbruck - offers its guests a sensual experience during the Advent season, based on local traditions. The innkeepers at Rattenberg offer visitors delicacies from both their kitchens & cellars.

* Advent and Christmas Experience in Seefeld

The 34 km distant Seefeld is the location of numerous traditional Christmas Advent events each year over the four Advent weekends.

The traditional Advent programme features handicraft afternoons, walking-tours to chapels, freedom and torch walking-tours and lively concerts with melodic brass bands and choirs.

Not only in Seefeld can the festive feeling of the Christmas market be experienced, the spirit of Christmas can also be found in the other villages of the Seefeld Olympic region.

* The charm of Christmas at the Fortress of Kufstein

The Austrian composer Karl Ganzer penned the song "The Pearl of Tyrol":

Kennst du die Perle (Do you know the pearl),
Die Perle Tirols (The pearl of Tyrol).
Das Städtchen Kufstein, (The little town Kufstein)
Das kennst du wohl ... (You must know ...)

... in case you do not yet know our traditional town of Kufstein (68 km from Absam), come and visit this town during the most peaceful time of the year, Advent.  Traditional handicrafts are displayed every weekend in Advent and you can post your letters to the Christ Child at the "Engerlpostamt" (Angel's post office).

A true feeling of Christmas can be experienced during the evening, when the Christmas horn ensemble plays old Advent and Christmas songs in front of the walls of the fortress, and when the "Anklöpfler" report on the arrival of the Saviour.

* Mountain Christmas and Magic Advent at the Achensee (Lake Achensee)

Experience a Tyrolean Mountain Christmas in the 46 km distant museum of local history in Achenkirch. Life-sized crib figures and living animals combined with wonderful music invite you to stay for some time.

Warming drinks, traditional Tyrolean Zelten (fruit bread) and home-made farmhouse bread will be offered for consumption in an old smoke room.

You can also find one of the oldest cribs from the Achental valley, as well as a traditional farmer's Christmas tree, within the rooms of the museum.
